What is The Catholic Zone?

The Catholic Zone helps adults discover, host, and attend Catholic events in their local area. The focus is simple: make it easier to find people and places where faith is lived together, in person, while keeping account, privacy, and safety expectations clear.

Real local community

The Catholic Zone helps people move from online discovery to real in-person gatherings around faith, service, recreation, and fellowship.

Built with trust and safety in mind

The app is 18+ and includes moderation/reporting tools, host profile controls, and visibility protections that help keep event discovery safer and clearer.

Built for hosts and teams

Individuals, ministries, and organizations can publish events, manage attendance, and coordinate team-host workflows as they build stronger local Catholic community.

Who Is Behind The Catholic Zone?
Peter Russman, founder of The Catholic Zone

The Catholic Zone was founded by Peter Russman from a small town in Virginia's Blue Ridge Mountain region. It began from noticing a clear local need: Catholic adults often do not have a single place to discover and share events and activities.

Peter holds an Associate's degree in Information Systems Technology and worked for four years in IT administration, cybersecurity, and compliance. He then spent two years discerning priesthood with the Diocese of Wheeling-Charleston before discerning out and discovering his current role: building this platform to help bridge that gap.

This effort is the result of prayer-led discernment, determination, and sustained hyper-focus over an extended period of coinciding events. In his own words, he has been full force riding a wave of God's grace in order to establish The Catholic Zone. He believes this is at least one real solution that can help countless Catholic adults connect in real life for real events and activities, live life more fully with more love, and help each other in the ultimate effort of getting to heaven.
